Ina Atchison Carter, 100 of Spiro, OK, formerly of Fort Smith passed away Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007. She was born July 3, 1906 to Pendeleton Mack Atchison and Minty Ardella Kellums Atchison. She was the last living member of the Atchison family.
In 1923 at the age of 17, she married Charlie Carter and they were married for 42 years. She lived in Fort Smith and the surrounding area all of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Carter; a daughter, Juanita Jones; a grandson, Michael Don Jones; her parents; and her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Patsy Morris of Ft Smith and Peggie Branham and her husband, Melvin of Spiro, OK; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-granddaughter.
