He was born Nov. 30, 1921 in Surry County to the late Oscar and Bertha Long Bryant.
He was a former clerk at Arnold's Amoco and of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Bryant is survived by his son, Howie Bryant Jr. of Sneads Ferry; a grandson, Devon Lee Byrant of Sneads Ferry; a stepdaughter, Denise Connor of Fieldale, Va.; a stepson, Jerry Johnson of Elkin; a brother, Arnold Bryant of Pilot Mountain; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home with Brother Don Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service from noon to 1 p.m.
