PNEUMONIA CLAIMS A YOUNG WOMAN
After three weeks’ illness Harriett A. Tomlinson passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Tomlinson, 531 Maple Avenue, at 9:50 o’clock Sunday evening. She was taken ill three weeks ago with an attack of pneumonia and pleurisy, but had practically recovered when an abscess formed in one of her lungs a week ago and it was this which caused the death.
Harriett Tomlinson was born November 10th, 1898 in Galesburg and died November 26, 1916 in this city. She received her education in the grade schools here and attended high school in the classes of 1913-14. All her life had been spent in Galesburg with the exception of a year she lived in Iowa.
Miss Tomlinson joined the Christian Church after the Scoville meetings and was a member, too, of the Sunday school of the same organization. Her death brings sadness to many friends as well as the bereaved family.
She is survived by her parents, one brother, Eugene, of Galesburg; five sisters, Mrs. Bessie Norton of Charleston, Ill., Katherine, Gertrude, Grace and Doris, all living at home.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the home, 531 Maple Avenue. Rev. S.M. Campbell will be in charge, assisted by Rev. H.A. Denton. Interment will be made in Linwood Cemetery.
