Margarette “Marge” May Moore, age 88 of Clearwater, Florida and longtime resident of OKC passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. She was born to the late Will & Edith Cole on May 7, 1928.

Marge grew up in McCurtain, Oklahoma with her brother, Boyd and sisters, Helen, Reba, Freda and Sue. She met and married the love of her life, Tom C. Moore in June of 1951 and began their life together in Oklahoma City. It was there that Marge and Tom raised their two daughters, Karen and Kristi and son, Robert.

Both Marge and Tom were active in church at Putnam City Baptist Church and later at Village Baptist. Marge loved working with the youth and spent many enjoyable weeks acting as a sponsor on youth mission trips. Marge and Tom were always willing to pitch in, corral the energetic youth and be their mentors and friends. Their willingness to share their home, time and their lives was an inspiration to the many that they touched.

Marge worked as a secretary at Putnam City Central Jr. High for a number of years and then later at Putnam City Baptist Church. Marge always looked out for the less fortunate and often opened her home to those in need. Her life of living Christ’s love was true from her days of youth until her final days.

Everyone who spent time with Marge always enjoyed her spirit of joy, infectious laughter, perceptive wisdom and the twinkle in her eye while she was enjoying teasing you. She loved games and the time spent enjoying friends and family, whether at home, church, camping out or on cross-country adventures.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Tom C. Moore.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Don and Karen Thornton of Highlands Ranch, CO, Robert and Sara Moore of Cave Creek, AZ and David and Kristi Johnson of Clearwater, Florida; two sisters, Reba Chappell and Sue Longwith, OKC; and many nieces and nephews. “Granny” was dearly loved by her 5 grandchildren and her 10 great grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all of them ~ Adam, Kristen, Tucker and Cooper Thornton, Luke, Susan and Oscar Thornton, Zach, Katie, Gianna, Juliet and Eliada Johnson, Andrew, Emily, Archer and Cash Mazzella and Dillon, Lindsay, Rylee and Violet Martin.

Services will be held at Village Baptist Church in OKC at 2pm Saturday, February 25th, 2017.
