HAYES — Robert Lee Stubblefield, 86, widower of Mildred E. Stubblefield, died March 11, 2006, at his home. He was born Feb. 6, 1920, to the late Jack R. and Garnett W. Stubblefield. He retired from the Naval Weapons Public Works Department in 1982. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Dianne Stubblefield; sisters, Jessie Smith and Mamie Powell; and brother, Jack Stubblefield.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy S. Jenkins and her husband, Bill Henry, and Rebecca S. Hibbard and her husband, Francis; one son, Robert Keith Stubblefield Sr. and his wife, Shelly; six grandchildren, Cheryle Rilee and husband, Robbie, Janice Andleton and husband, Jeff, Jennifer Hogg and husband, David, Keith Stubblefield, Holly Hibbard and Joshua Stubblefield; two great-grandchildren, Melanie and Trent Andleton; one sister, Betty Stubblefield; and one brother, Charles Stubblefield and his wife, Elaine.

Graveside funeral services, conducted by the Rev. James Draper, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Achilles Friends Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
