February 14, 1890, at Herman,
Nebr. He spent his boyhood in
this same community. On October
23, 1912 h e was united in marriage
to Laura Bendorf. To this union
were born 11 children.
Ed was actively engaged in
farming at Herman, Nebr., Powell,
Wyo., and at Galva, Alta and
Storm Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Holstein celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary
in 1962, an occasion which
brought many happy memories.
Ed became a member of the
First Methodist church of Alta on
January 12, 1964, transferring
from the Methodist church of
Storm Lake.
Upon retiring in January, 1964,
Mr. and Mrs. Holstein moved in
to Alta where Ed passed away
Oct. 17, 1965 at the age of 75
years and six months.
Preceding him in death were
his parents; 2 brothers, Fred and
Jewell; 1 daughter, Marjorie; 1
grandson, Vincent; and 1 granddaughter,
Dawn Janelle.
