Mr. Sonnon and his family lived in Oswego, IL from 1978 until relocating to Georgia in 1992, where he and his family operated Sun-Rich of Winder until 2002. He was active in philanthropic and charitable organizations with dedicated service to the Optimist (Oswego), Moose, and Eagle's Clubs. He served in local and state offices. He was currently serving as Secretary of the Eagles at the Gainesville Aerie 4452.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Donna (Neece) Sonnon; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David N. Sonnon, Jr. (Mandi Warren) of Sugar Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Dusten Sonnon (Derica Smith) of Merritt Island, FL, and Mr. and Mrs. Devon Sonnon (Loryn Post) of Charlottesville, VA; three grandchildren, Draven, Logan, and Mason David, all of Sugar Hill; brother, Stephen; sister, Kathleen Bretz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 20 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held Friday, September 21.
In lieu of flowers Mrs. Sonnon requests that donations be made in Mr. Sonnon's name to the Eagles Local Aerie 4452 building fund, 3007 Pathway Road, Gainesville, GA 30501 (Attention Secretary).
