POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Mattie June Dowd, 78, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 23, 1923, in Williamsville, Mo., daughter of Frank and Annie Eudaley Caul. She and James Dowd were married Sept. 18, 1964. He died July 16, 1994.
Dowd was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Helen Marek of Fenton, Mo., Nancy Evans of Warrenton, Mo.; a brother, Edward Caul of Chaffee, Mo.; two sisters, Edna Colbert of Sikeston, Mo., Kathryn Miller of Chaffee; five stepgrandchildren; and four great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Steve Proctor officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
