Mr. Evans was born April 21, 1923, in Des Moines, Iowa, to James Dean Evans and Gladys Bernadette (Goodall) Evans Schultz. He married Leneya R. Carlson on Oct. 17, 1944.
Mr. Evans was a member at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Angola, and the Knights of Columbus.
He served his country in the US Navy during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Leneya R. Evans of Angola; son Richard D. (Nancy) Evans of Valparaiso; daughter Theresa (James) Hornbacher of Angola; sister Genelle Max of Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Glenn Evans and Robert Evans.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Angola, with Father Bob Showers officiating.
Burial will be in Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola.
