ISAAC CAUBLE was born on February 22, 1806 in Rowan County North Carolina. He was the son of Adam "Pap" and Margaret (Shuman) Cauble. About 1813 the family moved to Indiana and Isaac grew up in what later was to become Salem Indiana. He met Miss Rachel Towe, and on January 23, 1831 they were married. Rachel was 16 years old and Isaac almost 25. Justice of the Peace Stephen Hole performed the ceremony. Rachel Towe was born on January 15, 1815 in North Carolina. Isaac and Rachel had eight children and the first five were born in Indiana. They were Elias, Eliza. Jane, Elsina, WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON. and Margaret Ellen. Sometime in the late 1840's, probably about 1847, Isaac and his family went to Missouri. It was there that three more children were born and they were Isaac Jesse, born in 1847, Rachel Marioh born in 1949 and Sophronia born in 1855. Isaac and Rachel lived the remainder of their years in Walnut Grove where he farmed the land. Rachel Cauble died on October 26, 1876 and is buried in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
