ILLNESS TAKES RETIRED S.L. BUSINESSMAN
George Efthimios Floor, 83, 1220 E. 6th South, retired Salt Lake theatre owner, died Saturday at 11:54 a.m. in a Salt Lake hospital after a heart attack.
Mr. Floor had operated the Star and Lyric theaters in Salt Lake City prior to his retirement about two years ago. He had been in the business for 40 years.
Previously he had been in the grocery business in Garfield and Salt Lake City.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the Parishaikos Society.
Mr. Floor was born June 25, 1879, in Kalavreta, Greece, a son of Ethimios and Hariklia Floor. He married Ellen Chiropoulos Feb. 16, 1914, in Kalavrita.
He is survived by his widow; three sons and one daughter, Gus G. Floor, Ogden; Andrew G. Floor, Tom G. Floor, both Salt Lake City; Mrs. James (Harriet) Paulos, Tooele; 13 grandchildren; two brothers and a sister, Louis Floor, Stockton, Tooele County; Nicolaus Floor, Mrs. Maria Phillos, both Greece.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 279 S. 2nd West. Prayer service will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at 36 E. 7th South. Friends may call at the family home Wednesday from noon until services.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family suggests friends make contributions to St. Luke's home for aged.
