Hugh A Bailey Jr. died 7 Oct 2013, just before his 88th birthday, of congestive heart failure at Ashley Gardens in Bremerton. The son of Hugh A Bailey Sr. and Frances Welsh Bailey, he was born in Iowa City, Iowa in October 1925. When Frances was well enough, the family returned home to Aberdeen. Hugh Sr. wanted him to be a "native WaShingtonian" so he dipped Hugh Jr. in the Pacific Ocean at Grayland. He graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1944, but did not walk with his class because he was drafted into the Army/Air Corps in January of that year. Upon his return home, Hugh went to work in the store his father built. He co-owned & managed Bailey'S Service in Aberdeen until 1977 when he move9 to Nevada. In 2008, he moved to Silverdale to be near family. Hugh married Mary K Cobb in 1947; they had one daughter, Janis. He was a life-time member of the Aberdeen Elks. He loved cars, cigars, and playing the Lotto.

Hugh is survived by his wife, Mary, daughter Janis, son-in-law Richard, grandsons Sean (Tracey) and Patrick (Jessica Daiker) Lamphere, 4 great-granddaughters, 1 great grandson, and two Oriental Shorthair cats.
