James Phillip “Phil” Aldridge, 75, of Burlington died at his home on Monday, February 20, 2017.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Helen Keck Aldridge, who survives, and the son of C.M. “Bill” Aldridge and Mozelle Smith Aldridge, both deceased. Phil graduated from Pleasant Grove High and attended Elon College. He served in the United States Army National Guard. Phil retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company as a leaf buyer after 30 years and was a fourth-generation farmer on his family land. He was a member of Union Ridge Church where he was active in the Graham Chandler Sunday School Class, served on the Deacon Board, the Official Board and was an usher. Phil was also the leader of Boy Scout Troop #53 for over 25 years.

In addition to his wife, Helen, of the home he is survived by his daughter, Anne Aldridge Webb and her husband Chris; a grandson, Phillip Grady Webb; and foster brother, Larry Ozment and his family.

A funeral service will be held at Union Ridge Church on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM by Rev. Dan Ficklin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. At other times they will be at the residence.
