MITCHELL, Archie Lee, 67, business owner, died Friday. Graveside services 2 p.m. today, Kiowa Cemetery Pavilion (Chaney-Harkins, McAlester).

Archie Lee Mitchell, 67, of Kiowa, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2006, at Kiowa.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kiowa Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. James Crowson officiating. Burial will be at Kiowa Cemetery in Kiowa under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include James Mitchell, Doyle Mitchell, Fuzzy Parent, Joe Parent, Mark Mitchell and Donald Parent. Honorary pallbearers include Jackie Mitchell and Roy Mitchell.

Born Jan. 4, 1940, in Atoka, to Ralph A. and Bernice (Parent) Mitchell, he married Patricia Craner on June 30, 1961, in Santa Paula, Calif. He owned and operated Arco and Union 76 service stations in Santa Paula before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Bass Fishing Club, 20/30 Club, Santa Paula Golf Association and the Automotive Dealers Association.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Pat" of the home; son, Michael J. Mitchell, of Kiowa; grandson, Michael C. Mitchell, of Santa Paula, Calif.; brothers, James Mitchell and wife, Francis, Doyle Mitchell and wife, Irene, both of Kiowa; sisters, Oleta Allen and husband, Cotton, of Savanna, Clara Mae Wheeler, of Madill, Betty Cochran, of Oxnard, Calif., Rudean Grieve and husband, Tom, of Ventura, Calif., Marie Lynch and husband, Harry, of Piru, Calif., Kay Cotton and husband, Dewey, of Tehachapi, Calif., Martha Craig and husband, James, of Santa Paula, Calif.; Mary Meierhoff, of Piru, Calif., and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Bernice Parent; brothers-in-law, Archie Cochran, Warren Wheeler, Scott Mieirhoff; nephew, Chip Cotton; mother and father-in-law, Marlene and Richard Craner; grandfather and grandmother-in-law, Joe and Maggie Collins.
