She was born on October 10, 1918 in Hot Springs, AR to James Walter Terry and Carrie Cordelia Hall Terry who were Arkansas residents. She had four brothers and four sisters; all deceased. She met and married her childhood sweetheart, Roland Bo Cox, also from Arkansas, and they were married on February 14, 1936 at the ages of 18 and 21. They had three children; two girls born into the family while living in Arkansas, Shelba Dean (deceased) and Priscilla Wayne. Their son, James Noland was born later after the family moved to Houston.
Lucille and her husband Bo ran a successful Mom and Pop drapery business from their home for many years after he retired. For as long as her family can remember she has been associated with and faithfully attended Assembly of God churches where she taught adult Bible study classes and mentored younger Christians.

She also has three great-great-grands, Jenna Soose, Ella Coker and Gabriel Gallardo; plus many acquaintances and friends who will greatly miss her.
