James Duke Rites Held Sunday
Funeral services for James Duke were held Sunday afternoon at the Christian church. Pallbearers were Martin Ruff, T. Harmon, Warren Hedman, Joseph Bloyers, Lew Boucher, and Harry Williams. Interment was in Highland cemetery beside his wife. A large number of friends attended the funeral.
James Duke was born Feb. 10, 1861, in Illinois, and came to the Havre locality in 1915, farming until 1929, when he moved to Havre. His wife passed away in 1934. Surviving him are four children, Mrs. Edward Stanford, Charlestown, Ill.; Robert Duke of Los Angeles; Roy Duke, of Clay City, Ill.; and Mrs. David Graham of Havre, at whose home he died April 9. There are also surviving 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
