Maxine Shipley, 79, of Ooltewah, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017.
A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she was a member of the New heights Baptist Church.
She was a loving wife and mother, and was a member and past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star #365 and the Red Hat Society.
She was the daughter of the late Ray and Retha Johnston and was also preceded in death by her husband, G.E. "Corkey" Shipley; sisters, Frances Harris and Betty Jo Carroll; brothers, Charles Ray, Johnny "Bubby" Johnston and Sherdian Johnston.
Survivors include her daughter Sharon Rae Green, Shawn Shipley and Mike Shipley all of Ooltewah; daughter-in-law Ann Morgan Shipley; grandchildren, Bethany Shipley, Bradley Shipley, and Shana Green; great-grandson Logan Sells; sister Susie McNeese.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Dan Hamby officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. before the service on Friday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
