Flora Maria Allen was born the sixth of eleven children to Walborg Maria Nielsen and David Benson Allen on December 26, 1897 in Hyrum, Cache, Utah.

She had ten siblings; Adella Keziah, Austin David "A.D.", Winfred Affel, Donald James, Vernon W., Earle Wesley, George Newell, Venna Belle, Melva Elaine, and Ethan "Max" Allen.

Flora married Julius "Lavine" Jacobsen on November 20, 1919 in Logan, Cache, Utah. Together they had four daughters; Helen Gale, Ruth, Lou Jean, and Marian Lavinna Jacobsen.

Flora passed away September 26, 1970 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. She was buried at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah.
