Ann Brogna, 96, of Rosebank, a retired telephone operator who enjoyed helping others, died Wednesday in New Vanderbilt Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Clifton, where she had been a patient for four days.
Born Ann Taibi in Manhattan, she was raised in Brooklyn and attended New Utrecht High School.
Mrs. Brogna lived in Springwood Villas retirement village in Pinellas Park, Florida, and was an active in the community there.
In 2012, she relocated to Rosebank to live with her daughter, Lorraine Castelli and her family.
She worked for 20 years as a telephone operator at Price Waterhouse in Manhattan, until retiring in 1984.
She enjoyed knitting and playing cards; her favorite game was "May I."
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Salvatore, in 2011, and by her son John, in 1992.
In addition to her daughter, Lorraine, she is survived by her son, Salvatore J.; her daughters, Angela Montalbano and Rosemary Skow; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners. Arrangements include cremation.
