Apps, Edwin George, 100, of North Aurora passed away three days shy of his 101st birthday, Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Provena Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora. Edwin was born January 11, 1910, in Batavia, IL, the son of George and Bessie (nee Morter) Apps. He was united in marriage to Marguerite Stull, May 15, 1943, in Sarasota, Florida. He was born and raised in Batavia. After serving in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII he began his career as a machinist working for ODM Tool and Die in LaGrange. He retired at the age of 62 following more than 25 years of service. He is survived by his daughter Marguerite "Mollie" (Jeffrey) Treest, a son James (Sandy nee Diveley) Apps, grandchildren Michael and Stacey Apps, a great-granddaughter Noelle Apps; a sister Marjorie Lambert, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife Marguerite "Mollie"; a brother Lloyd Apps and a sister Carol Faber. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 801 Oak Street, in North Aurora, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Mass at the Church.
