September 1, 1955 - December 25, 2016
David A. “Pudge” Oftedahl, age 61 of Sharon passed away on Christmas Day at the home of his sister in Beloit, WI after a courageous 3-month battle with cancer. His goal was to have one more Christmas with his family, and, he was able to have that. He was born on September 1, 1955 at Lakeland Hospital in Elkhorn , WI to Russell and Hazel (Ryan) Oftedahl of Sharon. Except for a few years when he lived in Wittenburg, WI, he spent his life in Sharon and was a 1973 graduate of Big Foot High School. David worked in construction until his health mad it difficult for him to do that. After that, he was a pizza delivery driver for Nayeli’s Pizza in Walworth. He enjoyed playing pool on the pool league and horseshoes and spending time with family and friends.
David is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Lobrano of Beloit, WI, Alice Buckley of Fresno, CA and Linda (Gil) Fitch of Sevierville, TN and two brothers, Donald (Patty) Oftedahl of Wautauga, TX and Dean Oftedahl of Sharon. In addition, he is survived by several nieces and nephews, 2 aunts and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Sharon United Methodist Church, 225 Baldwin St., Sharon, WI at 11:00 AM. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the entire team at Aurora at Home for their care of David.
