JAMES MCDONALD

James E. McDonald, 83, of 533 Shelby St., Shelbyville, died Tuesday morning at W. Major Hospital, Shelbyville.

A Shelbyville dentist since 1923, he was a member of First United Methodist Church, Shelbyville, American Legion, Masonic Lodge of Austin and the Shelbyville Elks.

He served in World War II.

Born Oct. 15, 1897, in Uniontown, he was the son of the late James A. and Emma Casey McDonald.

He married Faye Elizabeth Watt in Columbus (Ohio). She survived until 1999.

Other survivors include a son, Merritt Glenn McDonald (1927-1999), Kirkland; a sister, Louise McDonald, Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Services will be conducted at Murphy Mortuary, Shelbyville, with the Rev. J. Barnett Haskins officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, IN. (Find A Grave contributor Bev Weddell)
