Services for Birdie G. Woodard, 89, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Seth Ward Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Woodard died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, in Prairie House Living Center. She was born March 23, 1917, to Andrew Bascum Scott and Sarah Elizabeth Findlayston in Mt. Vernon. She married William Thomas "Bill" Woodard on April 23, 1932, in Hollis, Okla.

She worked at Central Plains Regional Hospital in Plainview as a practical nurse during the 1970s and '80s. She also worked in childcare at the Plainview Day Care Center in the 1960s and '70s. She was an active member of Seth Ward Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and GAs. She was a member of TOPS. She lived in Plainview since 1955. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 19, 1985, and a grandson, Tommy Austin, in 1975. Survivors include two daughters, four Grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
