Julius Emil Adam died Friday, January 26, 1996 at the Fort Meade Veterans Administration Medical Center. Julius was born July 9, 1915 to Herman and Gertrude [Baker] Adam in Minneapolis, MN. Following the death of his parents, he was raised by his aunt and uncle.
During WWII, he served in the U.S. Army from March 27, 1941 to October 20, 1945. While stationed at Fort Meade he met Lola Miller. They were married November 23, 1942, in Newcastle, WY. They lived in Spearfish, SD while he worked for Homestake Mining Company, the Tinton Mill, and the Miller and McLaughlin sawmills. He also farmed near Spearfish, SD. They lived for a time in Washington, where he worked in a soundboard factory making airplane and piano parts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Rudolph, his parent-in-law Harold and Bertha Miller and one son-in-law James Lewis.
Julius will be missed by his four children: Leona, Judy, Garry, and Jerry, and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
