He was born February 4, 1929, at Warren, a son of the late Nelms Burk Fort and Josephine Johnson Fort.
He was a graduate of Warren High School.
He served in the Army.
He was a retired lumber salesman for Southern Lumber Company and Potlatch Corporation, both of Warren, and also retired from Epperson Lumber Company of Statesville, North Carolina.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church at Pine Bluff.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Teague Fort, whom he married January 21, 1950, at Warren; four daughters, Debbie Milton of Fordyce, Nena Busby of Pine Bluff, Robin Smith of Little Rock and Susan Combs of Chester Springs, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Frazer's Funeral Home at Warren. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Warren.
