Attorney John V. Denton, who has been afflicted with consumption for the past year, died early yesterday morning, aged 28 years. He bore his affliction with great fortitude, only giving in to the inevitable a few days before his death. His legal attainments were superior for one of his age and his future as an attorney was quite promising. His is the third death in the family within the past year, his mother and wife preceding him to the beyond. He leaves a sister and two brothers. His funeral takes place to-day under the direction of the Modern Woodmen and the earthly remains will be laid beside those of his wife on Cedar Hill. - Corydon Democrat 31 Jan 1900
