Obituary for Bart Frank Botkin
Bart Frank Botkin, 62, of Winnemucca, NV passed from this life on February 6, 2017 at RENOWN Hospital in Reno, NV after a stroke. Bart was born on September 20, 1954 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Jimmie and Virginia Botkin and married Abby June Boyce. He grew up in the Denver and Golden Colorado area; he also lived in Rock Springs and Sheridan Wyoming. Bart and his family moved to Winnemucca in 1996 and made their home here. He graduated from Golden High school and attended Western Wyoming Community College. After high school Bart went into the United States Army and was stationed in Korea from 1973 to 1976. Bart worked in many places as a mine electrician; he was always going wherever he needed to go to make a living. He worked in Rocksprings and Sheridan Wyoming, Winnemucca and Elko Nevada, Ticaboo, Utah, Alaska and most recently back in Winnemucca. He has always enjoyed many outdoor activities including camping, off-roading in his Rhino, and doing scouting activities with his boys for many years. He and his boys also enjoyed martial arts. His favorite past time was hang gliding. Bart was always interesting and always fun, he was always careful to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves and well taken care of. [Removed survivor names.] He was preceded in death by his parents Jimmie and Virginia Botkin; his wife Abby Botkin and his grandson Bradley Botkin. A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 11, 2017 at 10:00 am at Sonoma Funeral Home, 47 W. First St, Winnemucca, NV. Bart was such a great guy and he will be greatly missed.
