Earlene I. Fenton SLATON-Earlene Irene Fenton, 91, passed from this life Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, after a lengthy illness. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, in Englunds Chapel with Greg McCowen officiating under the direction of Englunds of Slaton. The family visitation will be today, Saturday, Feb. 11, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Earlene was born on Jan. 5, 1926, in Clarksville, TX to A.D. and Lilly Jester. She graduated from Tahoka High School and moved to Loraine for a while before moving back to Tahoka. She married James B. Fenton in 1946 in Slaton. She owned and operated Earlene's Dress Shop in the early '70s through 1989. Earlene is survived by her son, Dennis of Wolfforth; grandchildren, Jeff and wife, Susan Fenton of Wolfforth, Jason Lo Casio of Idalou, Jeremy and Justin Dickinson of Wolfforth; and a great-granddaughter, Brianna Fenton of Wolfforth. Earlene was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Fenton; and a son, Kevin Ray Fenton. The family suggests memorials to Slaton Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels, 230 W. Lynn St., Slaton, TX 79364.
