Ellis Webster McGriff, 81, 308 Colbert St, Attalla, died Tuesday in a local hospital. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2pm at Morgan Chapel with the Revs Ernest Campbell and Brown Hallmark officiating. Burial in Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
Survivors: wife, Mrs Ives H McGriff; daughters, Mrs Avis Long, Mrs Dean Chambers and Mrs Johnny Campbell, all of Attalla, Mrs Conola Langley, Gadsden; son, L E (Bud) McGriff, Gadsden, sister, Mrs Annie Bailey, Birmingham; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers: deacons of New Welcome Baptist Church.
Mr McGriff was a native of Cherokee County, resident of Etowah County most of his life, retired from the Attalla Pipe Shop and was a member of the New Welcome Baptist Church.
The body will remain at the funeral home through the hour of service. The family will receive friends after 10 am today.
