"OBITUARY - Mrs Susan C Batchelder died at the home of her son, W S Batchelder, 96 East Central avenue, shortly before 6 o'clock last evening. Deceased had been in failing health for many years, and for the past year had been quite feeble. She was born in Bath, Me, Jan 8, 1814, and was consequently in her 86th year. That city was her life-long home until 1893 when she came to this city to live. She was the last of her family, which included seven brothers, and survived her husband, Emerson Batchelder, by forty-seven years. W S Batchelder was her only remaining son. Deceased was a woman of strong character and bore the afflictions of advancing age with patience and fortitude. The day and hour of the funeral will be announced tomorrow."

"BREVITIES - Funeral services over the remains of Mrs Susan C Batchelder were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence of her son, W S Batchelder, East Central avenue. Lyman C Howe, of Fredonia, NY, officiated and a choir consisting of Miss Susie B Hayes and the Messrs A T Schreck and A R Akin sang several selections. The burial followed in Woodlawn cemetery and was private. The pall bearers were M R Rouse, J W Downer, F H Aldrich and C E Giffin. J E Rowe, of Pittsburg[h], and C E Batchelder, of Bradford, attended the obsequies."
