Grace M. Fowkes, age 91, of Duncansville, died Saturday morning, February 11, 2017, at UPMC Altoona.
She was born March 25, 1925 in Newry, daughter of the late Benjamin, Sr., and Grace (Glunt) Detrick. She married Sheldon L. Fowkes on Jan. 28, 1948. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1978.
Survived by a son, Stephen; a granddaughter, Michelle "Missy" Fowkes; and a great-granddaughter, Natallia Sassany (Louis), all of Duncansville.
She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas, on July 5, 2006; and all 8 of her siblings: Donald, Thomas, Vernon "Pete", Benjamin, Jr., David "Bill", and John "Jack" Detrick, and Katheryn Dell and Azalia Miller.
Grace was a Hollidaysburg High School graduate. She enjoyed cooking, watching game shows and cooking shows on TV, and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received on Tues., Feb. 14, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 4th Ave., Duncansville, immediately followed by a eulogy and time of remembrances at 8pm. Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery.
