Graveside services for Mrs. Margie Marie McFarland Thornhill, 82, of Winnsboro, LA will be 2 PM, Sunday, February 12, 2017 in Providence Memorial Cemetery near Winnsboro, LA with Rev/ Curtis Owens officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Sunday, February 11, 2017 at the funeral home all under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home-Winnsboro, LA
Mrs. Margie was a proud housewife to Mr. Charles Emmitt Thornhill, Sr. and an even prouder mother to her two boys Paul Edward Thornhill and Charles Emmitt Thornhill, Jr. She went to be with the Lord on February 10th 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Emmitt who she loved to remind us spoiled and took such good care of her, one son Charlie, one sister Dorothy Netherland and one brother J.D. McFarland.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are Paul Thorhill and his wife Karen of Crowville, LA, granddaughter Emily Marie Thorhill Parker and her husband Chris of Wisner, LA, grandson Kyle Thorhill of Crowville, LA, three great grandchildren, Mason Charles, Madison Lynn, and Micah James Emmitt Parker, whose middle name always made her burst out smiling, and she would say just like my Emmitt. Daughter-in law Charlotte Thornhill of Wisner, LA, brothers, Marshall McFarland and his wife Pauline of Gilbert, LA, Ernest McFarland and his wife Ruby of Winnsboro, LA, Rayford McFarland and his wife Doris of Ruston, LA, sisters, Irene Jones of Wisner, LA, Edna Keen and her husband Owen of Scottsdale, KT and Maude Powell and her husband Quitman of West Monroe, LA, sister-in-law Doris McFarland of Gilbert, LA and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
