James was born October 30, 1945, in Booneville, KY, as son the late Tom and Rebecca (Green) Abshear. He was a farmer, loved horses, and UK Basketball. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Along with his wife; Imogene Abshear of Lancaster, KY, he is survived by 1 son; Ronald Abshear of Lancaster, KY, 1 sister; Betty Oliver of Booneville, KY and many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Tom and Rebecca Abshear, and 1 daughter; Vanessa Abshear.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home with Pastor Garett Thomas officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Brandenburg Cemetery located in Booneville, KY. The Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangement.
