ISAAC LEONARD CUTLER
“Leonard Cutler, farmer, P.O. Frankfort was born March 10, 1833 in Carpenter Township, Chenango County, New York. At eighteen (1851) he removed to Waukesha County, Wisconsin and thence to Will County, Illinois. There he married Mary Jane Egelston Maxwell, thence to Schuyler County, Illinois along with his father-in-law and family, and thence in 1857 to Kansas.

The first two years were spent on Clear Creek, then followed his permanent settlement where he now lives in 1883. His claim was purchased of John Mitchell and for it he paid about all his ready means. Mr. Cutler began in Kansas a very poor man, his old “patched Up” wagon being drawn into the state (although it was a territory not a state then) by two small cows. Nevertheless, we now find his small farm very well improved and his family is living in comfort and plenty. Mrs. Cutler who was Mary Maxwell, a widow, born Mary Egelston, married Mr. Cutler in 1852 in Joliet, Illinois. She died February 5, 1873, leaving two sons, George and Albert, both now living with their father.” She is buried in Morrison Cemetery, Marshall Co. KS in an unmarked grave in Block 8, Lot 2, owned by her son, George Cutler.

He moved to Logan Co. OK along with his son Albert Leonard Cutler and family (1900 Census living at Springer, Logan Co. OK). Family records say he was buried 8 1/2 miles SE of Guthrie, Logan Co. OK in Cutler/Shultz Cemetery, now called Oak View Cemetery. The grave is Unmarked. His father was Leonard Cutler.
