Viola Ball Roark
February 21, 1943 - February 7, 2017 Mrs. Viola Agnes Ball Roark, 73, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at the St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington.
Viola was born in Richmond, KY at the old Pattie A. Clay Hospital on February 21, 1943, to the late Albert and Mamie Cox Ball. The youngest of eleven children,Viola graduated from Madison Central High School in 1961, and went on to work for Westinghouse-Phillips until her retirement in 1994. She loved to read, work in her garden and flowers and spend time caring for her family. She had a special talent for finding four leaf clovers wherever she went. Mrs. Roark was a member of the Flatwoods Christian Church.
Shortly after her graduation from high school, she was united in marriage to James “Jimmy” Roark on May 26, 1961 and together they enjoyed 51 years together until he passed away in 2013.
She is survived by: her son, Troy Roark; her daughter, Lisa Lamb (John); four grandchildren, Adam Lamb, Jami Bray, Brooke Sydow (Joseph) and Tara Beth Roark; 11 great-grandchildren, Brayden Lamb, Hadliegh Lamb, Lucas Lamb, Benjamin Lamb, Gavin Bray, Jaxon Sydow, Skylar Sydow, Bentlay Sydow, Ayliana Nunez, Annalysa Nunez and Taven Collins; two sisters, Peggy Centers and Ann Westbrook; one sister-in-law, Colleen Ball; her father-in-law, Ed Roark; her three beloved dogs, Sparky, Chico and Poppy; as well as, many other family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a special brother, Ivan Ball, and special sister, Iona Adam.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 W. Main Street, with Bro. Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-9 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Wayne Newell, Adam Lamb, William Collins, Jason Goldey, Edward Vaughn and Kenneth Walker.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joseph Sydow and Ronnie Newell.
