Carl L. Biers, Port Authority Chairman, Dies
Carl L. Biers, 60, chairman of the Niagara Frontier Port Authority, died yesterday in his home in Eggertsville.
A nationally recognized trucking industry executive, Mr. Biers was a native of Erie, Pa., and was president of the Trucking Federation of the Niagara Frontier from 1953 to 1955. He was also a past president of the Common Motor Carriers Assn., the New York State Employers Assn., and the Transportation Club of Buffalo.
He was a member of Transportation Lodge 842, F&AM, Buffalo Consistory, Ismailia Shrine, the Buffalo Athletic Club and the Transit Valley Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, a son, Robert, and two daughters, Miss Phyllis Biers and Mrs. R. J. Rebmann. Four grandchildren also survive.
