Charles H. Deardorff
Charles H. Deardorff, 77, of 715 Manchester St., died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at his home. He was the husband of Treva E. (Stambaugh) Deardorff.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the L.E. Diehl Funeral Home Inc., 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice Services, 218 E. Market St., York, 17401; or to Faith United Church of Christ, 425 Pacific Ave., York, 17404.
Mr. Deardorff was born in East Manchester Township, the son of the late Charles and Lottie (Houston) Deardorff.
He retired seven years ago as a machine operator for York Wall Co. He was a member of the Wago Club and of Viking Athletic Association.
Mr. Deardorff also is survived by a daughter, Sharon L. Deardorff, Silver Spring, Md.; a brother, Dale Deardorff, York Haven; and nine sisters, Stella Gingerich, Bernville, Naomi Sager, Marietta, Florence Toomey, Manchester, Miriam Unger and Sarah Lightner, both of Clearsprings, Wilma Kortie, Columbus, Ohio, Mary Miller, Saginaw, and Luella Thumma and Anna Diehl, both of York.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dwayne C. Carter, pastor of Faith United Church of Christ.
