Albert Rolland Barham, 95, of Gilman, IL., died 8:46 A.M., Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at his home in Gilman.


Albert was born on July 19, 1921 in Cabery, IL., to Rolland and Ruby (Stone) Barham. His childhood was spent in Cabery. He married Harriet L. Kelley on February 2, 1947 in Ottawa, IL. She died on April 25, 2004.

Albert is survived by his children - Karen (Ed) Marek of Pace, FL., Charles (Chris) Barham of Strawn, IL., and Barry Barham of Gilman. Thirteen grandchildren - Mindy Roch-e, Scott Marek, Angie Nichols, Brandy Phipps, Alex Barham, Chelsea Barham, Shawn Barham, Cory Barham, Colby Barham, Rick Sippel, Kevin Sippel, Debbie Byard and Hal Sippel, 23 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter and son-in-law - Winnie (Harold) Sippel, two sisters - Iola Griffin and Zelda Benson and two brothers - Frank and Harold Barham.

Albert was a member of the Gilman United Methodist Church. He was a WWII United States Army Veteran, serving in the 29th Division Infantry in Europe and a member of the Gilman American Legion Post 499.

Albert retired from Bradley Roper after 43 years of service. He coached Little League for several years. He was an avid outdoors man who loved fishing, hunting and gardening.
Albert continued to enjoy breaking horses in his later years. He was also a White Sox and Chicago Bulls fan.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman with Pastor Malcom Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Gilman Cemetery, Gilman with Military Rites by the Gilman American Legion Post 499. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman.
There will be a reception immediately following the burial at the Gilman United Methodist Church Parish Hall.
