Alton Bloomquist was born in Minnesota, a son of John P. Bloomquist, born in Sweden, and Martha Sebena Swenson b~1861. He had siblings Verbena Jensen b~1894, Theodore A. b~1898, Martin E. b~1900 and Raymond V. Bloomquist b~1903.
He began working for Western Electric by 1917 when he lived in New Scandia, Minnesota. By 1930 he had moved to East Orange, New Jersey as an engineer for Western Electric. He was apparently transferred to Marquette, Michigan by 1940.
Alton married Pauline B. Mall in 1951 in Los Angeles.
They would eventually retire to Sun City, Arizona.
