Rebecca Jane Frazer Penniston was the daughter of Sarah Ann (Owen) Bellis and William Triplett Frazer. Her siblings were: Sarah (Woodruff), John, Thomas and William, Jr. Frazer. Her half siblings were: Isabell Margaret (Leake), Mary (Penniston), William McCrosky and James Jackson Bellis from her mother's first marriage to Samuel Bellis.
Rebecca married Alonzo Schofield Penniston on Jan. 17, 1871. They had the following children: George Watson, William Everette, Ines Effa Lena (died young) and Maudie Ida Montie (Peeler).
