Rosemary (Ladson) Simmons, age 93, of Linton, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at Shakamak Good Samaritan Center in Jasonville. She was born in Sullivan County on March 13, 1923, the daughter of William & Flora Mae (Purcell) Ladson.

Rosemary married Lawrence L. Simmons on June 14, 1945. The had six children. She loved cooking at Klusmeiers and the Town Meeting in Linton.

She is survived by daughters, Penny Lifford of Bloomfield, Vanessa Delph of Florida, and Regina Ward and her husband, Jerry, Rosemary's favorite son-in-law, of Linton. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Melissa Simmons and Kathleen Wright, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996, her son, Lewis in 2009, a daughter, Bonnie in 2010, a daughter-in-law, Barbara in 2012, twenty siblings, and four grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m., and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
