The people of Telluride were startled yesterday evening on receiving the news of the death of Mrs .J. F. M. Dunlap which occurred at 4 o clock at the family residence about one-half mile west of town.

Mrs. Dunlap was born near Galesvilie, Ill, in 1859, and a few years later came west with her parents who located at Wichita, Kansas where a number of her relatives reside at present. She wedded Mr. Dunlap in that city in 1880. They came to Telluride in the spring of 1882, and have resided here since.

The deceased was 37 years old and a more kind and charitable woman never lived in San Miguel county. She was the mother of six children, five of whom are living. Mrs. Dunlap is of English parentage and her maiden name was Ianthe Germen. Her death is deeply mourned by a multitude of friends in Telluride, and her husband and daughters are prostrated with grief. The remains were buried in Lone Tree Cemetery at 2 o'clock this afternoon, a large concourse of friends accompanying the remains to the grave where the last solemn rites were said. The funeral was held from Mr. Dunlap's residence, Pastor J. C. Rollins, of the Congregational church, officiating at the ceremonies.
