Perry Alfred Fann, 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:45 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Perry was a retired dozer operator and welder at Consol #2 mine after 28 years of employment. He was a member of the Elkville Christian Church, UMWofA, and the A-Wa-We-Go Campers. Perry loved farming and camping. He played the guitar at the local nursing homes, assisted living centers and many other events.

He was born January 26, 1936 at Du Quoin, IL the son of Dan T. and Agnes L. (Dearmond) Fann. Perry married Nora Jane Trogolo on October 24, 1980 at the First Christian Church of Du Quoin and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, daughter, Sherry Pfeaster and husband, Murlyn of Du Quoin, son, Gary Fann and wife, Barbara of Du Quoin, brother, Danny L. Fann and wife, Marietta of Tamaroa, two sisters, Shirley M. Cheek and husband, Bill of Pinckneyville and Patsy L. Norris and husband, Robert of Murphysboro; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy and Lyle VanZandt of Du Quoin; 5 grandchildren, Susan Davis and husband, Alan, Mark Pfeaster, Sarah Cashion and husband, Anson, Lyndsey Fann, Shantanna Mabrey and husband, Tyler; 3 great-grandchildren, Matt Lee, Nathan Lee and wife, Amy and Hadlyn Cashion; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Camdon Lee and Logan Lee; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Rusty Phillips; and sister, Wanda Lee Fann.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Elkville Christian Church with Bro. Ron Kreid and Rev. Robert Norris officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Elkville Cemetery at Elkville, Illinois.

Friends may make memorials to the Elkville Christian Church Building Fund, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
