Vernon Goldsmith, formerly a farmer in Green County, died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday at his home, 5507 May Court. He was 81.

Surviving are his wife, Lillian; three sons, Charles Goldsmith, Indianapolis and Alden and Eugene Goldsmith; three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Cox, Mrs. Flossie Cox, both of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Clara Wilkerson, Elizabethtown; a brother, Harvey Goldsmith, Upton, Ky.; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Nunnelley Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Boulevard, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.
