Letha R. Hartley, 76, of Fort Madison, died at Fort Madison Community Hospital.

Born in Bonaparte, she was the daughter of Leonard Holland and Ethel Horner Holland Gray. On March 3, 1951, she married James Hartley in Kahoka, Mo.

Mrs. Hartley was a homemaker for most of her marriage. She was a member of Victory Faith Family Church and Oasis Bible Study. She enjoyed ceramics.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Gary Hartley of Milford, Pa., Donald Hartley of Fort Madison, Danny Hartley of Dallas City, Ill., and David Hartley of Waite Park, Minn.; two daughters, Patricia Bogart of Joshua, Texas, and Beverly Ertzinger of Burlington; 14 grandchildren; nine great–grandchildren; two great–great–grandchildren; two sisters, Dorathy Boring of Heyworth, Ill., and Virginia Knipe of Fort Madison; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, two sisters and one grandson.

The funeral was held at Barr Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Roger Welty, Virginia Knipe and Jerry Knipe officiating.
