Gilbert Shuler Bamberger, 75, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at his residence.

Born Dec. 16, 1931, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Solomon E. and Ruth Shuler Bamberger.

Gilbert retired as a data processing manager with the former C.H. Masland & Sons of Carlisle. He was a graduate of Highspire High School, class of 1949, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, and a member of Kennedy Valley Church of God, Landisburg; American Legion Post 109, Mechanicsburg; and the Italian Club of Hershey.

Gilbert was a former treasurer of the Tuscarora Forest Property Owners Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at his cabin, boating in the Chesapeake Bay, hunting, fishing and the hymn sings at his church.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Audrey Ann Harvey Bamberger; a son, Gilbert S. Bamberger Jr. of Shermans Dale; two daughters, Cheri L. Keys of Brookville and Lori B. Kleberg of Pittsboro, N.C.; a brother, Adrian Bamberger of Mountville; and eight grandchildren, Kristin, Jennifer and William S. Keys, Shannon, Britny and Gilbert S. Bamberger III, and Justin and Matthew Kleberg.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary L. Horton.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, in Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, with visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
