Eurel was born on October 20, 1934, in Crockett, Texas, to parents Eurel H. Baker, Sr. and Della Middleton Baker. He passed away at home on January 18, 2017.

Eurel's father, Eurel Sr was the sheriff in Crockett from 1938 to 1943. Eurel graduated from Crockett High School in 1953. He joined the U.S. Army and served from 1954 - 1956. In 1957 he married the love of his life, Dorthy Salmon. They were the proud parents of two sons, Dennis Baker and Darren Baker.

Eurel and Dorthy were very involved in their Unity Baptist Church and Eurel served in many posts at the church.

Eurel was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Virgie Baker Sizemore and Veda Baker Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Dorthy, sons Dennis Baker and wife Mary Ann and Darren Baker and wife Ann Marie. Granddaughter Breanna Baker; great grandchildren Wyatt and Kataleyah. He is also survived by a sister, Doris Baker Bertone and many nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
