He was born December 28, 1923 in Page County, Virginia, son of the late Ausby and Mary Susan Cubbage Lucas.
Mr. Lucas was a retired meat cutter with Shen Valley Meat Packers in Timberville and a member of the Blue Ridge Pentecostal Church in Stanley.
On February 14, 1948 he married Dana Pearl Whitmer who passed away on June 15, 2015.
He is survived by five children, Wayne Lucas of New Market, Shirley Campbell of Strasburg, Dawn Racey of Woodstock, Tommy Lucas and David Lucas, both of Quicksburg; two sisters, Geneva Dinges of Stanley and Hattie Short of Broadway; a brother, Lloyd Lucas of Grottoes; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Interment will be at a later date in Mt. Jackson Cemetery.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Theis Funeral Chapel, 9377 North Congress Street, New Market, VA
