JOSEPH S. GREGA
Joseph S. Grega, 88, of Bridgeport died Sunday at Bridgeport Hospital.
Born in Stratford to the late Andrew and Margaret Chorba Grega, he was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport. He was a retired foundryman for Heppenstall Foundry Company, was a former member of the Catholic Sokols and the First Slovak Wreath of the Free Eagle, and was an usher at St. Ambrose Church with 30 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Margarite Mencel Grega; sons, Rodney J. Grega and his wife, Nancy, of Seymour and Joseph W. Grega and his wife, Roberta, of Trumbull; a daughter, Carol Ann Fastiggi and her husband, Anthony, of Cromwell; grandchildren, Todd, Kimberly and Paul Grega, Anthony Fastiggi, Keirsten Riccio, and Jennifer and Sara Grega; great-grandchildren, Amanda and Katelyn Grega; sisters, Elsie Studley of Bridgeport and Irene Hines of Florida and Southbury; brothers, Frank Grega and his wife, Dorothy, of Milford and Emil Grega of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services took place Wednesday at St. Ambrose Church with a Mass of Christian burial. Interment was in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. The Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, was in charge of the arrangements.
