Mrs. Leota Marie Cope Carrington, 92, died Friday, August 29, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center, after a severe stroke at her Heritage Woods residence. Mrs. Carrington was born October 3, 1915 to the late Wesley T. Cope and Addie Mae Shuller Cope. She lived all of her life in Forsyth Co. and was a life long member of Fairview Moravian Church. She had retired from Hanes Hosiery. Mrs. Carrington was preceded in death by her husbands, William F. Craver, Elmer R. Marlow and Harvey S. Carrington; one sister, Addie Mae Cope Johnson and her husband, Jim; her brothers, Enoch Cope and his wife, Lucile, and Ollie Cope and his wife, Carolyn; and a niece, Pat Johnson. She is survived by one daughter, Willie (Ralph) Clark; one son, Frank W. (Kate) Craver; grandchildren, Neal (Tina) Clark, Gregg Clark, Katherine Craver-Gladstone, Elizabeth Craver (Mark) McAlister; great grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth, Steven and Taylor Clark, Rob, Mary Kate and Mark McAlister; special friend and cousin, Becky Martin; nieces, Shirley Cope Neil, Jadine Cope Harley, Denise Cope Hagens, Elaine Cope Coon; nephews, Jim, John and Jerry Johnson, Winfred and Wayne Cope; and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Carrington will be conducted on Monday, September 1, 2008 at 4:00 P.M., at Fairview Moravian Church, with Rev. Riddick Weber officiating. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 3:00 P,M, until 4:00 P,M. The family asks that memorials be made in Mrs. Carrington' s name to Fairview Moravian Church, 6550 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem NC 27106. The Vogler and Sons Funeral Home on Reynolda Road is serving the family.
